About us

MES's principal, Catherine Minden, has been an editor for over twenty years. In that time, she has edited course materials, user interfaces, an academic journal, documentation, fiction and nonfiction books, college textbooks, and every kind of marketing vehicle from annual reports to Web sites to white papers.

Catherine started Minden Editorial Services in 1994. She cowrote The Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications (Redmond, Wash.: Microsoft Press, 1995), which received an Excellence Award from the Society for Technical Communication. In 2008, Minden Editorial Services was a 2008 Microsoft Vendor Program Vendor Excellence Award finalist in the categories of Excellence and Service.

In order to meet our client's demands, Minden Editorial has established partnerships with subcontractors providing key services. We work only with experienced professionals who have demonstrated their ability to meet our exacting standards.

"Many professions require a sensitivity to ambiguity. Editing requires nothing short of a fascination with ambiguity. There's an old joke:

A: Author, question is unclear. Do you mean "to replace a lightbulb" or "to have sex in a lightbulb"?
